that during 1992-1999 over 80,000 amputations were performed as a result
of workplace injuries.
This site is designed to help inform on topics of interest to amputees. Most amputees will find their support mechanisms to get through the stages of coping (for more detail, see the "emotional impact" section). It's important to understand that you are not alone. There are millions of amputees in this country who have gone through what you are going through, and learned to cope. Take strength from your resources and loved ones, and know that you, like the vast majority of amputees in this country, can lead a healthy, peaceful and productive live. Not only is there life after amputation, but it can be a satisfying and fruitful one for amputees and their loved ones.
